After a first matchday full of mixed results, some of which were heavy, and goals of many kinds, KONAMI has chosen the top 5 goals of the day, from which a winner will be announced during the league's second matchday stream. Let’s take a look at the five nominees.
AC Milan - FC Inter: Match 1 Game 3
ACM Sasinho scored his second goal of the match in the 54th minute of AC Milan's third match against FC Inter, helping to stage a comeback from a goal down and leading to a 3-1 aggregate win against their arch-rivals. The goal was the result of a beautifully weaved move down the right flank, involving Brahim Diaz, Ketelaere, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Rafael Leáo. This win led the Rossoneri to finish the day unbeaten with 9 points out of a possible 9 and climb to the top of the league.
FC Barcelona - Manchester United: Match 2 Game 1
Multi-time champion Ettorito97 returned to the competition after a year away with a great performance to give the blaugranas the first 3 points. The nominated goal was the second of 4 goals in total that the talented Italian player scored against Manchester United veteran Lotfi. In the 34th minute of the match Ettorito97 set up a one-touch passing move involving up to five players, starting on the right flank to Pedri's finish from Lewandoski's pass on the left flank. A pure La Masia style goal that set the game on track for the Catalan side's first and only win of the opening day.
FC Barcelona - Manchester United: Match 2 Game 2
Alex Alguacil's homecoming to Barcelona ended on a bittersweet note. Bitter because the Spanish player was held to a draw by the Frenchman Kilzyou; sweet because the equaliser came in the 87th minute after prolonged suffering and a constant siege of the opposition goal since the first-half opener. The goal begins with a long throw-in by Ter Stegen that is met by a header from Lewandoski. Alex Alguacil weaves a quick, vertical move that after a series of passes arrives at the feet of the Polish striker who, from the balcony of the box, fires a great right-footed shot into the back of the Manchester United goal. The goal was celebrated by the former FC Bayern player with a scream that was heard throughout the studio and was accompanied by the celebration of his teammates Ettorito97 and The Palma.
FC Bayern München - AS Monaco: Match 3 Game 3
FC Bayern captain FCB_Jose's goal sealed the lead in the third game between the Germans and Monaco, taking the former side to grt seven points from a possible nine and moving them into second place in the league table. The nominated goal begins after a clearance by the Monaco keeper which is picked up almost in the corner by Tel, who turns and plays a low pass into the box for Gnabry. At that moment is when the German striker, handled by the Spanish esport player, makes a magical movement turning on himself to deceive the defender handled by E_C_Oneill and launch a beautiful shot with the inside of his foot to the left side of the Monaco goalkeeper who can do nothing to stop it. A beautiful finish from the Spaniard that deserves a Goal of the Day nomination.
Arsenal FC - AS Roma: Match 4 Game 3
The Dutch player lost to Italian ASR_STIFFLER in a tight third game of the last match of the day. Despite not getting the three points, INDOMINATOR was nominated for the best goal of the day thanks to a great goal by Thomas Partey. Right from the start of the second half, the Gunner launched a vertical move that caught the Roman defense off guard. After a series of quick passes, the ball found its way to Partey, who struck the ball into the Giallorossi's net with a powerful right-footed shot. A goal like a cannon blast that did not stop the enemy fire, as in the last quarter of the match ASR_STIFLER would snatch the three points of the match from the Dutch player.
