A look at OSTRYBUCH’s iconic game winning goal of Matchday 1

OSTRYBUCH was awarded best goal of the first competition in eFootball.Pro’s 2019-2020 season, after leading Manchester United FC to a last minute win in the first game of the match

The stage was set for OSTRYBUCH’s award winning goal in 82’, described by commentators as the “Hail Mary” shot, with Manchester United FC and FC Bayern München tied 2-2 in the final minutes of the first game. This was his second goal of the competition, with the first being in 19’ to put the English team in the lead 2-1. When reflecting on what it felt like to witness this final goal, Harry Channon, matchday commentator, recalled: “It felt like an eternity it took for the ball to cross the line.”

OSTRYBUCH was praised for his calculated decision to take a shot on goal following the pass from KAMS from behind the halfway line, rather than volleying the ball during this critical moment. Pundit, Steward Westley, admits he was impressed by the “calmness and peace of mind” displayed by the young player when he made the call to lob the ball over FC Bayern München’s keeper. Being ranked fourth from last in defensive positioning points at the end of the matchday made it clear that OSTRYBUCH’s main focus was his offensive gameplay, which worked out in the English team’s favor with both of his shots being on target and resulting in two goals scored.

Following the first matchday, Manchester United FC captain and teammate of OSTRYBUCH, E_c_oneill, was interviewed about the team’s performance during the competition. When asked about their potential to win the championship title, he responded: “It’s possible. We have a great team, and it’s a mix of experience and youth. Everyone plays on the highest of levels and I hope we can win it with this team.” Through his game winning goal, resulting in a 3-2 score and a win for Manchester United FC, OSTRYBUCH proved that the youth he brings to the club has the potential to be exactly what is needed for the team’s continued success. Helping lead the team to victory in Game 1, and a tie of the second game, the English club walked away with four points at the conclusion of the matchday.

While recapping the first matchday of the season, host, Adam Butcher, asked Stewart Westley, what he thought the biggest standout moment was that changed the proceedings of the rest of the day. Westley’s immediate response was a reference to OSTRYBUCH’s goal, stating: “Looking at Manchester United’s goal, to clinch it 3-2, I think that was massive for them and takes the pressure off a little bit going into Matchday 2. It gives them four points, and gives them a platform to build upon. I think that was key for them, especially against the Bayern München team.” This proved to be true for the English team in the second matchday, when OSTRYBUCH scored another game winning goal at 51’ of the second game, awarding the team three more points at the conclusion of Matchday 2.

As OSTRYBUCH was presented his €10,000 prize, Butcher asked the young player how it felt to be representing this iconic club, and what was going through his head leading up to his impressive shot against the German team. He reflected: “It was a great first ever game in eFootball.Pro, scoring that late winner. It was crazy looking at when the ball goes into the net… It was nice to see the reaction and what it means to the players when you score.” By scoring the goal that commentators speculated “means the world” to captain E_c_oneill, who hopes to make it to the eFootball.Pro Finals for a second consecutive year, OSTRYBUCH proved his worthiness of participating in this competition. His stunning shot that “completely turned the tie on its head” placed Manchester United FC in the third place position as the first matchday came to an end.
