As the 2020-21 Regular Season of eFootball.Pro IQONIQ nears the end, all eyes are on the Knockout Stage qualifying positions. AS Monaco and AS Roma are the first two clubs to secure advancement, following their performances in Matchday 8, and Celtic FC and Galatasaray SK have officially been taken out of the running. The six remaining clubs, Arsenal FC, FC Schalke 04, Juventus, FC Barcelona, Manchester United FC, and FC Bayern München will fight for the chance to compete for the championship title. Below is a list of the potential outcomes these clubs would need in Matchday 9 in order to advance:
The Gunners would achieve Knockout Stage qualification with the addition of just one point to the league table, meaning that the minimum they need is one tie in their match against Celtic FC.
If they are unable to gain any additional points, they would still achieve qualification unless four or more of the following scenarios occurred: FC Schalke 04 gains one point, or zero points but no other clubs are tied with 25 points, Juventus earns at least one point, FC Barcelona wins at least two points, Manchester United FC gains at least four points, three with a better overall goal difference, or three or more clubs are tied with 25 points giving Arsenal FC the 3rd position among them or lower, or if FC Bayern München manages to win both of their games and gain all six points.
The German squad would earn advancement to the Knockout Stage if they are able to tie both of their games, adding two points to their position.
With the addition of one point to their position on the league table, they would still advance unless there is a 26 point tie among only FC Schalke 04, Juventus, and Manchester United FC, regardless of FC Bayern München’s position, and Arsenal FC and FC Barcelona have 27 points or more by the end of the competition. If they lose both games, resulting in a zero point gain, they would still be qualified unless four or more of the results appear: Arsenal FC gains at least one point, or even zero points as long as more teams are tied at 25 points, Juventus earns at least one point, or zero points but they are the only two clubs with 25 points each, FC Barcelona earns at least three points, Manchester United FC gains at least three points, or if FC Bayern München achieves victory in both games granting them the full six points.
Juventus will move forward to the Knockout Stage if they earn two points throughout the gameplay of Matchday 9.
If they only manage to gain one point, they would still achieve qualification unless three or more of the following outcomes occurred: Arsenal FC earns at least one point, FC Schalke 04 earns at least one point, FC Barcelona gains at least four points, or FC Bayern München wins all six points. In the event of a two game loss for Juventus, where they fail to earn any points, they would be able to advance to the Knockout Stage unless FC Barcelona wins at least one of their games, or FC Bayern München wins both, in the situation that both Arsenal FC and Schalke 04 get points, or if both of the outcomes with Barcelona and Bayern happen, while Schalke doesn’t obtain any points.
The Blaugrana trio will advance to the Knockout Stage if they win one game and at least produce a draw in the second, earning them four points.
If they only manage one win in their upcoming match, they would be qualified unless three or more of the following situations arise: Arsenal FC gains at least one point, FC Schalke earns at least one point, the fixture between Juventus and Manchester United FC ends in one tie and one win for the English club, or if FC Bayern München earns all six points. If FC Barcelona ties both games, they still advance unless Manchester United FC earns at least four points or FC Bayern München wins both of their games. If the Blaugrana team only takes one point to the league table in Matchday 9, they would have a qualifying spot unless Manchester United FC wins at least one game, or FC Bayern München adds at least four points to their position. Even if Barça loses both games, they would move forward unless Manchester United earns at least two points, or FC Bayern München wins at least one game.
The English squad will guarantee a Knockout Stage qualifying position if they manage to achieve a two game victory securing all six available points in the ninth matchday.
If they win one game and tie another, they would still advance unless all of the following scenarios occur: Arsenal FC earns at least one point and FC Schalke 04 gets at least two, or the reverse, FC Barcelona wins at least one game, and FC Bayern München wins both of theirs. With a three point gain, Manchester United FC would still be qualified unless three or more of the following outcomes appear: Arsenal FC earns at least one point, FC Schalke 04 earns at least one point, FC Barcelona ties both of their games, or FC Bayern München claims all six points. Qualification would even be possible with only a two point gain for the English club, as long as FC Barcelona loses both games or FC Bayern München earns less than four points. Manchester United FC would officially be out of the running if they achieve one point or less by the day’s conclusion.
The reigning eFootball.Pro Cup champions are the only club that can’t guarantee themselves a Knockout Stage qualifying spot on their own, depending on the outcomes of other fixtures in order to advance.
If they are victorious in both games, they will advance unless all of the following situation materialize throughout the ninth matchday: Arsenal FC earns at least one point, FC Schalke 04 brings at least one point to the league table, and Juventus gains at least one point while maintaining a favorable goal difference or Manchester United FC takes the maximum amount of points from their match, and FC Barcelona earns at least four points. If the German club ties one game and wins another, they will still advance unless FC Barcelona gains at least two points or Manchester United FC is victorious in one of their games. If they only win one game, they will be out of the running if FC Barcelona earns at least two points or Manchester United FC achieves one point less, the same, or better results by the end of the day. In the event of two draws, or less favorable results, FC Bayern München will lose their chance of moving on to the Knockout Stage.
