Celtic FC spring a surprise and FC Schalke 04 slide down the table

Matchday 4 results leave the competition wide open, with many teams tied in different positions


AS Monaco continue leading the Regular League table after Matchday 4, but the day left many surprises and many teams tied in both the Knockout stage places and the bottom positions. All matches were full of excitement, with comebacks and goals on the injury time. After all the action, ASM Usmakabyle and ASM Kilzyou are still on top of the individual awards rankings.


The first match was dominated by FC Barcelona, with both Barcelona and FC Schalke 04 in need of all six points. The blaugrana squad finally managed to get four, because the Germans tied the first game with a goal of MEROMEN. The final result (1-1 and 0-1) was the shortest in goals of the whole Matchday 4


The second match, between FC Nantes and Arsenal FC, was very even, especially during the first game. Until the last breath, it seemed that the score could have changed either way, and finally the Canaries scored in the 6th minute of the injury-time (3-2). However, in the second game, Arsenal FC dominated the scoreboard (0-2) and won three points that helped them in the table.


The match between Juventus and Manchester United FC was clearly dominated by the Italian team. Nevertheless, the English squad did not stop fighting at any moment and was close to come back at the end of Game 1 (3-2). The second game was finished with a lone goal of LoScandalo (1-0).


One of the most exciting fixtures of the day was the one between Boavista FC and FC Bayern München. The Portuguese team almost got all six points, but an own goal on YIOU in the 83’ of the first game put a 2-2 in the scoreboard, and motivated Bayern for the final 2-3 of JOSE in the 89’. The second game was also a good fight that Boavista won (3-1), leaving one of the most emotive moments of the season so far.


The last match of the day was even more exciting, with two draws between Celtic FC and the leaders AS Monaco (2-2 and 1-1). The first game included a goal in the 90+2’, and the second one set the final draw in the minute 48th but was full of occasions until the last referee’s whistle. 


The MVP of Matchday 3 and the best goal of the 25th January games were awarded at the beginning of the day. Kepa from FC Nantes won the prize for the best goal, and ASM Usmakabyle was the best player. The awards of Matchday 4 will be given on 22nd February. In order to decide the MVP, KONAMI chooses one player out of the five with the most CO-OP points determined by the video game. Both MVP and Best Goal are individual prizes that award 10,000€ each to the winner. 


The following fixtures for Matchday 5 have been officially announced: AS Monaco vs FC Barcelona, Celtic FC vs Boavista FC, Juventus vs FC Bayern München, FC Nantes vs Manchester United FC, and FC Schalke 04 vs Arsenal FC. Matchday 5 is set for Saturday, February 22 at 1.00pm CET (12.00pm GMT).
