AS Monaco still unstoppable at the top of the table

FC Bayern München beat FC Schalke 04, and Boavista FC surprises against Juventus, causing changes at the top of the table

After the five matches on Saturday, January 25, AS Monaco lead the Regular League table with sixteen points. Arsenal FC sit bottom having secured only four points out of the 18 possible in three matchdays. ASM Usmakabyle and ASM Kilzyou of AS Monaco lead the scoring chart with seven goals each in three matches.

The first match of the day saw Juventus with two world champions against the underdogs of the competition: Boavista FC. The Portuguese team is one of the biggest surprises of the season, and defeated in the first game the Italians who had arrived at the studios off the back of a very successful Matchday 2. They clearly dominated at the beginning, with a 2-0, and the second game ended in a victory for Juventus 2-3, after a fought match.

The Ligue 1 derby in the second match, between AS Monaco and FC Nantes, was another goal exhibition from the Monegasque squad, despite the attempts of Roksa and Kepa scoring once in each game. Monaco rolled over the Canaries, 3-1 and 3-1, and ASM Kilzyou, ASM Lotfi and ASM Usmakabyle continue on top of the goals and assists rankings.

Celtic FC finally saw a victory in their match against Manchester United. The first game ended in a 2-2 draw, and the second one was an exciting exchange of goals, with teams taking turns towards goal. The final 3-2 was scored by INDOJAWA in the 57th minute. This victory allowed the Scottish club to jump from the last to the 9th position of the table, without harming too much United, that continues in the 4th place.

The match between FC Barcelona and Arsenal FC showed that both clubs still have some details to improve, after three matchdays without many goals. Both teams played well, but neither showed the hunger in front goal that will be required if they are to challenge the top teams, with their games finishing 1-1 and 1-0.

Mirroring Saturday’s Bundesliga match, FC Bayern München and FC Schalke 04 were the final match of Matchday 3. Off the back of very different outcomes in Matchday 2, both teams were in need of the 6 points on offer. In the end, the match ended with a double 1-0 and the all-Spanish Bayern won all the points.
