The second matchday broke the tie on top of the eFootball.Pro table, and AS Monaco placed itself as sole leader. They struggled to defeat a surprisingly confident Boavista FC, but after the two games and the rest of the day clashes, ASM Lotfi, ASM Usmakabyle and ASM Kilzyou lead both the league table and the main individual rankings.
AS Monaco fixture was again full of goals and excitement, but this time, the first game didn’t have a clear dominant team. The two clubs took turns facing the goalkeeper to put a final 2-2 in the scoreboard. The second game, however, showed the usual Monegasque squad, with ASM Usmakabyle and ASM Kilzyou scoring (0-3). They didn’t celebrate their goals after the tie in the first game and Boavista FC kept attacking and trying, but finally Monaco got four points and the Portuguese squad only one.
The first match of the day had only two goals and an equal distribution of points for both Arsenal FC and Manchester United FC (1-0/0-1). Alex Grd scored in the beginning of the first game, and spectators couldn’t see more goals until the second half of the second game, when OSTRYBUCH, the winner of the Matchday 1 Best Goal award, proved that he is in the race for another prize next week.
FC Bayern München vs FC Barcelona promised to be an exciting match, with Alex Alguacil facing his former club and with two CO-OP world champions (Alguacil and GuiFera). The blaugranas scored first, but then the all-Spanish Bayern dominated the first game, that ended 2-1. The second game was decided by a sole goal of MESTRE who was, again, the best player of his team and his match according to the eFootball PES 2020 video game stats.
The match that faced Juventus and FC Schalke 04 was an avalanche of goals. The dominance of the Italian team was clear from the beginning; they scored four goals in the first game, and four more in the second (4-0/4-1). The sole goal of EL_MATADOR after LoScandalo’s hat-trick wasn’t even celebrated. The German team arrived in Barcelona for Matchday 2 leading the table together with AS Monaco and left with the same six points that they had in December.
In the last match of the day, between Celtic FC and FC Nantes, both clubs fought for the victory in both games, but the French team was more successful (1-1/1-4). After the goal of INDOJAWA, the first game seemed decided. But Kepa, who didn’t play on Matchday 1 because he was representing Serbia at the IeSF (International eSports Federation) World Championship, scored and drew in the injury time. The second game was completely different, with FC Nantes dominating from beginning to end in spite of Celtic’s tries and JORCHA’s goal.
At the end of Matchday 2, ASM Usmakabyle and ASM Kilzyou lead the scorers table with five goals each, and Usmakabyle is also on top of the assists table, with seven. The Best Defensive Player counter shows a different list, with FC Nantes’ Aazbabysk, FC Schalke 04’s EL_MATADOR and Boavista FC's Barboza as the men that perform the best when it comes to defensive plays.
The MVP of Matchday 1 and the best goal of those first games were awarded at the beginning of the day. OSTRYBUCH won the prize for the best goal, and ASM Kilzyou was the best player. The awards of Matchday 2 will be given on January, 25th. In order to decide the MVP, KONAMI will choose one player out of the five with the most CO-OP points determined by the video game. Both MVP and Best Goal are individual prizes that award 10,000€ each to the winner.
The following fixtures for Matchday 3 have been officially announced: FC Bayern München vs FC Schalke 04, FC Barcelona vs Arsenal FC, Celtic FC vs Manchester United FC, Boavista FC vs Juventus, and AS Monaco vs FC Nantes. Matchday 3 is set for Saturday, January 25 at 1.00pm CET (12.00pm GMT).
