KONAMI’s eFOOTBALL™ CHAMPIONSHIP PRO NEW SEASON KICKS OFF FEBRUARY 11th

The professional league with the best esports football players and Clubs is back on track with a new offline format to be held in Barcelona and broadcasted worldwide

Konami Digital Entertainment has announced today the return and first details of the new season of eFootball™ Championship Pro. After more than 12 million total YouTube views on YouTube in one month during the last season held last June 2022, eFootball™ Championship Pro is back for a fifth season on February 11th at 13:00 CET.

2 NEW CLUBS AMONG THE 8 PARTICIPANTS

The competition will feature eight of the biggest European football clubs in eFootball™ videogame. FC Barcelona, Manchester United, FC Bayern München, Arsenal FC, AS Roma and the reigning champions, AS Monaco, will return to the competition along with two KONAMI’s new partner clubs, the Italians AC Milan and FC Internazionale Milano, which will surely increase the competitive level of the new season.

Each club will be formed by a roster of 3 professional esports players who will be facing each other every scheduled Saturday from February to June. The announcement and details of these players can already be checked on the website and will also be published on the main social media channels.

OFFLINE EVENTS IN BARCELONA

For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, the events will take place on site at our spectacular venue in Barcelona, prepared for the occasion by the competition’s operator, Adrenal1ne Marketing Agency. There, on the main stage, players will have the opportunity to go head to head while commentators broadcast live every play also on stage. The venue also has a training area with customized boxes for each club, a VIP area for managers and guests and a chill-out area with catering.

NEW COMPETITION FORMAT

This season, the eFootball™ Championship Pro is divided in a Regular League with 7 offline matchdays and a Knockout Stage that will be held also offline on June 24th. Only the first six teams ranked after the Regular League will advance to the KO Stage, where the two leading clubs of the table will pass directly to the Semifinals.

All matches in the Regular League will have three 1-vs-1 games per match, following a 3-1-0 points system per game victory, tie or defeat. However, in the Knockout Stage all matches will follow a best of 3 games format. All games will be played in the Dream Team mode with a team power limitation of 2430 points of Collective and Base Strength and a lower overall value for bench members of 75.

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

The professional esports players who have outstanding performances during the tournament will be awarded with individual prizes like the Best Goal of the Day, the MVP of the Regular League and the MVP of the Knockout Stage. Fans will also have the opportunity to win club goods in various eFootball™ Victory Giveaway campaigns that will be carried out by the Clubs throughout the competition. Further information on this will be provided soon.

ALL EVENTS BROADCASTED WORLDWIDE

Each event will be broadcasted in a streaming programme that can be followed live on the official eFootball™'s YouTube and Facebook channels every scheduled Saturday at 13:00 CET from February to June. Individual matches or even the entire programme will also be available live on each club’s streaming channels. There will also be complementary live content on Twitter and Instagram so that the whole eFootball™ community doesn’t miss a single detail of the eFootball™ Championship Pro 2023.
