AC Milan repeats double nomination for the last Goal of the Day award of the regular season

The shortlist of nominees for the Goal of the Day award in Matchday 7 is shaped by the goals from FC Barcelona’s The Palma, AS Monaco's Usmakabyle, AC Milan’s FRANKINO and Sasinho and Manchester United's Kilzyou.

KONAMI has selected the top 5 goals of the last Regular League day and AC Milan come back to the nomination shortlist with a brace. The recognition comes after the Rossoneri achieved the tremendous feat of qualifying for the KO Stage with everything going against them: winning all three games against then-leaders Arsenal FC and taking advantage of AS Monaco's 6 unearned points against FC Inter. FRANKINO joins this list for the first time and so AC Milan get all their players nominated at least once for this award. For his part, ACM Sasinho repeats his nomination for the third time and after being awarded the competition's first Goal of the Day award. The AS Monaco's captain and current top scorer of the competition, Usmakabyle, repeats nomination for the fourth time this season, while The Palma gets his third nomination and Kilzyou makes his debut among the pre-selected players, making Manchester United a full house of nominations for their players throughout the regular season.

The winner of such a coveted award along with its €5,000 prize will be announced during the KO Stage’s event, which can be followed live from the eFootball’s YouTube and Facebook official accounts next Saturday, June 24th at 13:00 CEST

Let’s take a look at the five nominees.

THE PALMA

AS Roma - FC Barcelona: Match 1 Game 1

The Palma's third nomination came on the last day of the league after an early header by Pedri in the 4th minute of the first game of the day. The goal would not serve to consolidate the advantage of the blaugranas, as ASR Gagliardo28 would end up coming back to get the first 3 points for his team.

Usmakabyle

AS Monaco - FC Inter: Match 2 Game 2

The top scorer so far in the competition with 20 goals has earned his fourth nomination of the season, making him the player with the most Goal of the Day nominations even though he has yet to win the award. Arriving at 42 minutes, Usmakabyle sent in a superb cross from the left flank that found its way to Ben Yedder in the small area, who instead of finishing, chose to pass the ball to his teammate Golovin for him to finish at will. A goal that put the Monegasques momentarily ahead, but the match would eventually end in a 2-2 draw.

FRANKINO

Arsenal FC - AC Milan: Match 3 Game 2

The newly-crowned MVP and Coppa eFootball™ Italia champion showed off his combination skills and cold blood with this goal he scored in the third match of the day between Milan and the Gunners. In the 56th minute, FRANKINO linked a series of passes inside the box between 4 Rossoneri players to get the ball to the feet of De Ketelaere to score the second and ultimate victory goal of the game.

ACM Sasinho

Arsenal FC - AC Milan: Match 3 Game 3

The Rossoneri player earned his third nomination after winning the award on Matchday 1 and receiving a second nomination on Matchday 4. On this occasion, ACM Sasinho showed his composure and patience to freeze time inside the box and lay the ball off for Rafael Leão's Epic: Big Time card, who cut inside to the right and slotted the ball into the bottom left-hand corner of the net. It was the second goal of the game in the 36th minute that helped cement the Milanese's lead over the Gunners in a third and decisive game that would end 1-4 in favour of the former to give them a place in the quarterfinals.

Kilzyou

FC Bayern München - Manchester United: Match 4 Game 3

Manchester United's French player debuts on the list of nominees after scoring a superb goal in the last Regular League match against FC Bayern München's FCB_Jose. In the 35th minute, Kilzyou opened the scoring with a splendid Sabitzer right-footed shot with the outside of his foot from the right side of the German box for which the Bavarian goalkeeper could do nothing. Kilzyou then extended the lead with a second goal to win the game 2-1 and send Manchester United through to the semifinals as runners-up.
