'Fierita' Catalano joins Semra Hunter and Harry Channon as Casters for the upcoming season

The Argentinian football expert with almost 1 million followers on Twitter will be the new pundit of the eFootball™ Championship Pro 2023 alongside host Semra Hunter and main commentator Harry Channon, both repeating from last season.

KONAMI has announced the line-up of casters that will be taking part in the streaming programmes during the entire 2023 season. Semra Hunter, presenter in LaLigaTV will conduct the programmes as host. The Californian-born has worked already for an eFootball™ competition when she was host in the PES League in 2018 and in last season’s eFootball™ Championship Pro 2023.

The British esports caster Harry "Wonderboy" Channon will narrate the matches as main commentator. accompanied by the esports football expert Guillermo “Fierita” Catalano as pundit. Harry has been the eFootball.Pro caster and commentator for the last four years, including the last season of eFootball™ Championship Pro. When asked about the competition returning into an offline format, he has stated: ‘I’m very excited to see the top level of eFootball™ return to an offline setting and to feel the energy from the teams and the players in person. There's no substitute for the roar you hear when a 90th minute winner goes in!’.

Guillermo “Fierita” Catalano will take the position of pundit, as a football expert, for the upcoming season. In the last few yearsm the Argentinian TV presenter and football commentator has become an influencer on social media with almost 1 million followers on Twitter. Fierita already participated as commentator in the PES League in 2018 and now, in his own words, he is thrilled to be back: 'For all the fans, the players (pro and amateur gamers) eFootball™ and its history is directly linked to long days and nights of playing with friends. These in-person competitions resemble what we like most about this game. The adrenaline, the vibes, and the energy of a face-to-face competition is always something unique'.

While asked about the participating clubs and players, Fierita Catalano thinks that ‘we´ll have the best players in the world under one roof’, to which Harry adds ‘I am excited to see how the two Milan clubs perform in their debut seasons, with Inter fielding some familiar veterans to the competition, while AC looks to bring forth new blood to the biggest occasions.

Having Ettorito97 and Alex Alguacil together again in a team is something that the Argentinian pundit doesn’t want to miss, while he thinks that having other big names like INDOMINATOR, Roksa22, Lofti, Usmakabyle and Mucahit21 will be very interesting and will have a lot of people eager to see how they adapted to the new version of the game.

The first matchday has intense games like an Italian derby AC Milan - FC Inter and a Man.Utd. - FC Barcelona, which serves as a starter for the same real match to be played a few days later. After that, we will continue with FC Bayern vs. AS Monaco, the rematch of last season’ Grand Finale, and Arsenal FC - AS Roma as a last dramatic game to end with. Asked about these fixtures, Harry said: ‘It is always difficult to predict who will hit the ground running in a competition such as this; in the past we have seen many front runners struggle to get off the mark, as well as early starters fall off mid season. The early front runners I would say are Barcelona, FC Bayern and Manchester United, however they all have tough first matchdays ahead of them (especially as two of them play each other)’. Fierita comments that he doesn't like predictions but he thinks that Monaco, Barcelona and AC Milan may be favourites in their matches and he adds: ‘Even when the first matchday gives the same amount of points as every other one, nobody wants to start giving a wrong impression. [...] Winning first sometimes means winning more.’

The competition starts next Saturday, February 11th, at 13:00 CET, and can be followed live from anywhere in the world via the eFootball™ YouTube and Facebook accounts.
